What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better browsing experience, and supply information to the owners of the site.
Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting (“first-party cookies”) or by third-party services that run content on the page (“third-party cookies”). Cookies can remain on your device for different periods of time: “session cookies” are deleted when you close your browser, while “persistent cookies” stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.
Cookies We Use
The table below describes the categories of cookies we use on ReadingMinds.ai and their purposes.
| Category | Examples | Purpose | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Session cookies, CSRF tokens | Essential for the website to function correctly. These cookies enable core features like security, authentication, and session management. | Always active |
| Analytics | Google Analytics (anonymized) | Help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. IP addresses are anonymized before storage. | Opt-out available |
| Functional | Language preferences, theme settings | Allow the website to remember choices you make (such as your preferred language or display settings) and provide enhanced, more personalized features. | Opt-out available |
| Marketing | N/A | Used to track visitors across websites to display relevant advertisements. ReadingMinds does not currently use marketing cookies. | Not used |
Third-Party Cookies
In addition to our own cookies, we use third-party services that may set cookies on your device. These include:
- Vercel Analytics: provides privacy-focused website analytics, including page views and performance metrics. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies that track users across websites and does not collect personal information.
- Google Analytics: collects anonymized data about website traffic patterns, user interactions, and navigation behavior. IP anonymization is enabled so your full IP address is never stored by Google.
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review those policies for more detail on how they handle data.
Your Choices
You have several options for managing cookies:
Browser settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically find these options under “Privacy” or “Security” in your browser's preferences. You can choose to block all cookies, accept all cookies, or be notified when a cookie is set. Please note that blocking all cookies may affect your experience on our website and some features may not function as intended.
Google Analytics opt-out
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookie preferences
If we implement a cookie consent banner in the future, you will be able to manage your cookie preferences directly from that banner at any time. Currently, you can manage cookies through your browser settings as described above.
